We buy high quality instruments, or take them in trade for the instruments we sell. Essentially, any Instrument we buy, goes through much the same process as service. We offer a trade and/or purchase price based on your description and assessment of condition. We place the funds agreed in an escrow account until we receive the shipment. Any change or base of condition, we agree, and then finalize the purchase, transferring your funds in the case of purchase. We set the value of the instrument against its purchase, in the case of a trade.
We will consider selling high value, specialist instruments on a consignment basis. The process is similar to servicing in that we agree the consignment arrangements prior to seeing the instrument, and then undertake any repair/refurbishment at our expense. Such work is funded by the instrument sale, or if the consignment arrangement is not concluded, payment is made prior to the return of the instrument.
